Who we are, plainly
ICIB is a software house based in Milan. We don't have an office in Catania, and we'd rather say so up front.
We work with Sicilian companies all the same, and the results show. Two of the projects in our portfolio started in the province of Catania, in Caltagirone. Our method works well at a distance because it's built around a demo of working software every two weeks, and a demo looks the same from Catania as it does from Milan.
What we build
For SMEs the most common job is custom management software. Orders, inventory, production, jobs and invoices in one system, instead of the Excel files each department keeps on its own.
More and more often we put artificial intelligence inside that system, reading emails and documents and preparing the work for people. For anyone with a product idea we build the software from the MVP onwards, as described on the page about software development for startups.
Projects born in the province of Catania
For a social platform for the nightlife scene we built the app that brings social discovery inside the venues, with a live, geolocated list of who's there. It's also the project where we learned maintenance: an app launched years ago that is still in the stores and still being updated.
Both clients are based in Caltagirone, an hour from Catania.
How remote work works
We start with a twenty-minute call. You tell us how you work and we tell you whether off-the-shelf software or a custom build makes more sense for you, even when the answer is to buy.
The analysis happens on video calls, with the people who will use the software and their spreadsheets and documents in front of them. Then we develop in two-week sprints, and every sprint ends with a demo of working software on your own data, over video. Priorities are decided together at each demo.
Six months of support are included after delivery, with urgent tickets handled within 24 hours. Code, database and access are in your company's name.
Can you build custom management software with a supplier in another city?
Yes, as long as the method includes frequent checkpoints. We close every two-week sprint with a demo of working software on a video call, so you see progress on your own data and set priorities without waiting for the end of the project.
